DMS Handbook - Attendance for Clinical Education Assignments

Clinical education is an integral part of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. The time spent in clinical education is invaluable in mastering scanning techniques. Clinical time permits the student to meet program learning outcomes and to become competent and proficient in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of learning. The clinical site provides the experience necessary to become a sonographic professional.

ACCIDENTS, INJURIES, INCIDENTS OCCURRING AT CLINICAL EDUCATION SITE

  1. All incidents or accidents that occur while at the Clinical Education Center that result in personal injury, and/or patient injury, and/or hospital personnel injury, and/or damage to equipment must be reported immediately to the Clinical Instructor and the Clinical Coordinator. The Clinical Coordinator will then report the incident to the Program Director.
  2. Students will be required to follow the proper procedure for documenting accidents in the Clinical Education Center where the incident occurred.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, Peace and Conflict Studies associate professor Jacquelyn Bleak treated 黑料不打烊 students and faculty to an interactive seminar on one of the core tenets of her field: conflict mediation.Bleak 鈥 pronounced 鈥淏lake鈥 鈥 has a master鈥檚 degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and teaches such classes as Intro to Conflict Management; Gender, Power, and Conflict; Conflict in the Workplace; and Mediation Theory and Training. DMS Handbook - Academic Standards Policy

  1. Students are required to achieve a grade of at least a "C" or better in each RIS core course within the program curriculum.
  2. If a final grade lower than "C" is earned in any required RIS course, including clinical courses, the student will not be permitted to progress in the sonography coursework sequence.
  3. Students are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 or better for all classes taken at 黑料不打烊.
